BERLINCIAGAY #14 – Leü

1. How have you been? What have you been up to lately?

I'm doing great! The past year has been incredibly busy, mainly because of our party series, Blue Balls. Alongside that, I've been spending a lot of time developing myself as a DJ, digging for great tracks and expanding my music collection. I've also had the chance to play at several parties, including Sisyphos in Berlin, which was a really important and rewarding experience for my music career.

2. Congratulations on one year of Blue Balls! You've created a beautiful space for the community. Looking back on the past year, what have you learned from building such a special night?

Thank you! First of all to being with us and we appreciate your support!

Exactly one year ago, my friends and I decided to create Blue Balls not just as a party series, but as a safe space for the queer community. We wanted to build a place where people could truly be themselves, express their emotions and feelings freely and make new friends.

Looking back, I think the key to Blue Balls' success has been consistency. During the first few months, many people were understandably unsure. They wanted to know if it was really a safe space, what kind of people came and who we were. Building trust took time, but we kept showing up and staying true to our vision.

The biggest lesson we've learned is not to give up. If you genuinely believe in something, you have to keep doing it, even when people are uncertain at first. Trust and community aren't built overnight, they grow through consistency and care.

3. "We dance together, we fight together" became the motto of the 2018 protests in Tbilisi. Have things changed since then? How does it feel living in Tbilisi today?

Yes, I think 2018 was a real turning point for Tbilisi's nightlife. The police raid on Bassiani was a huge shock to the rave community because it wasn't just about one club, it was about the fear of losing our freedom and independence.

What happened afterward was incredibly powerful. So many local people, clubs from Georgia and abroad, international artists, and members of the global electronic music community stood in solidarity with Bassiani and Tbilisi's nightlife. That moment put Tbilisi on the map as one of the most exciting rave destinations for people from all over the world.

Today, we're still facing many challenges because of government policies and laws that affect our communities. But the spirit of resistance is still here! We continue to stand together, support

one another, and fight for our freedom and we won't stop until we achieve the future we're fighting for.

4. At the heart of BERLINCIAGAY are friendships, connection and creating spaces where people can come together. How do you navigate that, and what does community mean to you?

The Blue Balls series is all about friendship, community, trust and creating a supportive space where people can simply be themselves.

For many years, the queer community has faced challenges such as stigma, misconceptions and a lack of understanding about queer people. These struggles have often made it difficult for many people to fully accept themselves and feel comfortable expressing who they are. Creating a safe and welcoming space was always one of our main goals - a place where everyone feels accepted exactly as they are.

Today, we see dozens of people who never used to go to clubs becoming regular guests at our events. Seeing that transformation makes us incredibly happy and reminds us that we are building something meaningful. It shows us that we are moving in the right direction and creating the kind of community we always dreamed of.

5. What's next for you in 2026?

First of all, we’re not going to stop. We will continue doing everything we can to make community life more welcoming, supportive and peaceful. Blue Balls will always stand by our community - creating safer spaces, building trust, and supporting people in every way we can.

On a personal level, I want to continue developing my DJ career. I truly believe I can bring something unique and exciting to dance floors. Music brings me so much happiness, and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing people smile, connect, and enjoy themselves
